The Consumer Product Safety Commission posted 12 recalls on November 5, led by about 3.66 million Little Giant ladders that can suddenly retract if their locks are not fully engaged. The list also includes about 634,759 Bose speaker battery packs that can overheat and ignite, and about 175,951 Gourmia air fryer ovens whose doors can close unexpectedly on people retrieving hot food. By our count, the 12 notices cover about 4.5 million units sold in the U.S., four of every five of them Little Giant ladders.
The ladders
The recall covers Adjustable Fortress 2.0, Conquest 2.0, Dark Horse 2.0, Epic, King Kombo XT, Leveler, MegaLite, MegaLite+, Multi, Quantum and Vector models. Their black or orange Rapid Locks, on each leg, fit into the rungs to set the height. A ladder is covered only if it has no orange rectangular "QC" sticker on the rail above one of the locks.
Little Giant has received 25 reports of ladders retracting, 19 of them with injuries: three reports of head injuries, in a range that includes skull fracture and traumatic brain injury, and 16 of others such as fractures and cuts. It has also received 39 reports of locks not working properly. The ladders sold at Lowe's, Costco and other stores and online from December 2015 through October 2026 for about $100 to $1,000.
The CPSC says owners should stop using the ladders until they review the company's recall page or the QR code on the ladder, and contact Little Giant at 866-201-9069 for a repair kit. The kit is labels and instructions: they tell owners to verify that the locks are engaged before every use and to lubricate them. If a lock still fails after lubrication, the company will evaluate it, and if it fails again Little Giant offers a replacement ladder or a refund based on the purchase date, with the full price only for ladders bought in the past 12 months.
Battery packs and air fryers
The Bose packs, for S1 Pro and S1 Pro+ Bluetooth speakers, sold with the $700 speakers and separately for $100 to $160 from December 2017 through July 2026. Recalled serial numbers, on a label on the bottom of the pack, begin with 083723, 078352, 084105, 078591, 078592, 084106 or 086409. Bose has seven reports of packs melting, smoking or catching fire, six with property damage and no injuries. The CPSC says to remove the pack, which leaves the speaker usable on AC power, and to register with Bose for a free replacement. It warns against putting the old pack in the trash, curbside recycling or store battery boxes, and says to ask a municipal household hazardous waste center whether it accepts them.
The Gourmia ovens, model GTF7530, sold at Target from October 2021 through June 2026 for about $150. Gourmia has 57 reports of doors closing unexpectedly, resulting in 40 incidents of burns to hands or wrists. The CPSC says to stop using them and contact Gourmia, at 888-834-0092, for a free repair kit with an added doorstop.

In a company announcement posted by the FDA, Snack Right Super Foods said it is recalling about 25,000 bags of Brad's Plant Based Crunchy Kale and Veggie Chips Kale, distributed from October to December 2025, because they may contain thallium. The company says exposure at relatively high levels can cause serious effects, including nerve damage and hair loss.
